The port of Ventspils is an ice-free, deep-water port and an industrial center on the East coast of the Baltic Sea. A well-developed road network, a high-capacity railway infrastructure, the shortest maritime connection to the Scandinavian market, as well as high-quality port infrastructure and many years of experience in handling various types of cargo, combined with more than 500 hectares of land available for development, make Ventspils an outstanding location for port, logistics, and industrial projects, including its role as a service port for offshore wind farms.

Amount of cargo handled at the Freeport of Ventspils in 2025 was 8.5 million metric tons of freight.
